Power Flushing in North London
Power flushing involves the cleaning of your central heating system and/or boiler. Overtime, Magnetite can build up within radiators and pipework and can affect the performance of your heating. Magnetite or sludge is made up of a combination of dirt, mites and corroded metals and can be found within any part of your central heating system.
It not only creates cold spots within your radiators, left untreated it can also create blockages, but more concerning, as it is corrosive, may well rot new aluminum heat exchanges that are common place within modern boilers.
This is why, whenever a new boiler is installed, manufacturers recommend a power flush to increase the lifespan of the boiler. Most warranties of new boilers are deemed invalid without a power flush.

What is the Power Flush Process?
A power flushing machine is a device with a pump that is attached to the heating system at a particular point. The process involves introducing fresh water and cleaning chemicals (Fernox) and the essentially cleaning the pipes out. The water is then released (several times) and finally once the system and boiler are cleaned, we fill the system up again and introduce Neutralising crystals and Inhibitor once more to protect your system for the long term.
The process takes between 4 and 8 hours to do, and there is absolutely no mess.
At Plumbing Wise, power flushing is a common procedure. When we install boilers typically a flush is carried out unless the client specifically does not want one done, or if we think the system is too old or weak* to handle pumped water being put through it. Therefore, all our engineers are fully trained in powerflushing and our very familiar with hot spot areas where magnetitie and blockages can commonly occur.
Furthermore, in the event of any complications, you are fully protected as Plumbing Wise has Public Liability insurance for up to £2,000,000.

Power Flushing Costs (All prices quoted are plus V.A.T @ 20%)
A power flush of your central heating system including all chemicals and power flushed to BS7593 standards will cost £250.00 for up to five radiators and £35.00 per radiator thereafter.
We also offer the supply and fit of a Magnaclean Unit for £140.00 when combined with a Power flush.

* It certain situations it might not be suitable for a Power flush to be carried out. If, for example, the pipework, the radiator valves and/ or the radiators are so old then Power flushing light lead to potential leaking issues. In this event a chemical flush (without the pump machine) and the installation of a Magnaclean unit might be more sensible. Our engineers will advise when this is deemed necessary.
If, in the unlikely event, that there are any leaks resulting from a power flush, then Plumbing Wise is no way liable for any damage as we cannot determine the strengths or integrity of the pipework or appliances within a property. We can merely make a general assessment that is all.
